Festival d’été de la Vallée-du-Richelieu 2012
Le mois dernier, j’ai eu l’opportunité de couvrir pour Loungeurbain.com la journée hip hop du plus grand festival musical de la Montérégie (imo)!
Malgré la pluie en début d’après-midi, j’ai passé une superbe journée dans l’entourage de deux grands rappeurs montréalais: Imposs et Mugz), j’ai eu la chance de rencontrer pour une énième fois la reporter Varda Étienne et de l’observer travailler avec son équipe de l’émission télé Sucré Salé et bien sur, assister à toute les performances, soit celle de Mugz, Imposs (en compagnie de Eddy King) et (le plat principal) Wyclef Jean!
Mes moments forts de la journées: le freestyle improviser entre Impos, Mugz et Wyclef et Wyclef en mode rétro avec du son des Fugees!!

Last month, I had the opportunity of covering the hip hop day of the largest (imo) music festival in the Montérégie, all for Loungeurbain.com!
Despite the rain earlier in the afternoon, I had a great day chilling and mingling with two of the greates rappers of our city ( Imposs and Mugz), I had the chance to meet for the umpteenth time the reporter Varda Étienne and watched her work with her team from the of the TV show Sucré Salé, and of course, attend every performance: Mugz, Imposs (along with Eddie King) and the main act Wyclef Jean!
My highlight of the day: the improve freestyle session on stage between, Imposs Mugz and Wyclef, and Wyclef bringing it back with songs of the Fugees!

Mugz’s x “Gone One Day” EP Launch Listening Party [Photo Review]
Gone One Day x Mugz
Le 17 mai dernier, l’équipe de l’étiquette BlackRose Music invitait les médias urbains, la famille et les fans de Mugz à un listening party au sein du WonderBar de l’Hotel W de Montréal. Le rappeur y a alors performé les pistes de son nouvel EP. Au menu: performance énergique où l’on pouvait ressentir un Mugz nerveux de présenter son dernier ouvrage. Le EP présenté par l’artiste est l’étape logique à cheminement: une mixtape populaire (I Co-sign myself), les premières parties de rappeurs américains tel que Rick Ross, une video sur BET (Lonely Girl) et maintenant un EP! Bel ouvrage de 7 pistes qui, selon moi, s’exporte très bien hors de Montréal. La musique de Mugz est contemporaine et se marie avec le Hip Hop moderne.
Mon son préféré sur le EP: Living Through Your Eyes en collaboration avec Uness, chanteur RNB montréalais. Mention spéciale: Friday (It Feels Good), qui rappelle les racines caribéennes du rappeur (Mugz est d’origine barbadienne).

On May 17, the team over at the label BlackRose Music invited the urban media community, Mugz’s family members, his friends and fans to a listening party at W’s Wonderbar in Montreal where the rapper performed the tracks from his new EP. We were graced with an energetic performance where you could feel Mugz’s excitement to present his latest work. The EP presented by the artist is the next logical step in his journey: a popular mixtape (I Co-sign myself), being first act for famous American rappers such as Rick Ross, a video on BET (Lonely Girl) and now an EP! Beautiful work of 7 tracks which I think could very well be exported outside of Montreal. Mugz’s music is contemporary and blends with modern Hip Hop.
My favorite track out of the EP: Living Through Your Eyes feat. Uness, a RNB singer, also from Montreal. Honorable Mention: Friday (It Feels Good) a track with good west indian vibes, an highlight to the rappers bajan roots!
