Nouveau son du poète et chanteur montréalais, Jjanice. 8mm est le second extrait de son prochain album opus intitulé “Les Voiles” prévu pour l’automne 2013.

J’aime beaucoup. La mélodie est soul, la voix de Jjanice est chaleureuse et son texte est toujours aussi pensé! Beau prélude à l’album que j’ai bien hâte de découvrir à sa sortie!

I love the mellow and soulful tone of the song. Jjanice’s voice is so warm and his lyrics are always so smarthly put together! A beautiful preview to the album and I can not wait to put my hands on it when it releases!

Il y 2 semaines maintenant que je visitais Las Vegas pour la toute première fois! J’y ai ris aux éclats, y ai fait la fête pratiquement tous les soirs (… et même le jours), visité un tas de truc, y ai même perdu 3 gros dollars américain, mais surtout je m’y suis fais de bons amis et de très beaux souvenirs!

En me promenant en ville, j’y ai remarqué quelques références à Montréal! Cool non!?

2 weeks ago, I was visiting Las Vegas for the first time! Laughed, partied, went sightseing, even lost 3 bucks “gambling” but mostly made good friends and long lasting memories! Liked every minute of my trip!

While visiting Vegas, it came to my attention that there’s quite a few references to home!

Sur la scène musicale depuis maintenant plus de 10 ans, c’est avec un grand plaisir que je me suis rendue au Petit Campus, le 12 février dernier, pour voir le chanteur en version live pour la première fois! Tout un concert! Un artiste vraiment généreux qui est en constante interaction avec son public. Concert où on a eu droit qu’aux pistes de son nouvel album Landing On A Hundred, dont Till I met Thee et That Still Mama.

Dans ce spectacle intime où Cody ChesnuTT nous présentait son évolution en tant qu’artiste, c’est l’homme derrière l’artiste qui a su me charmer. Il a partagé de façon candide avec son public des moments de sa vie de couple, les aléas de sa vie de père, mais surtout les grandes ligne de sa spiritualité. Une spiritualité qu’on sent très présente chez l’artiste et qu’il a su partager sans l’imposer!

Un bon concert organique comme je les aime!

He’s a very generous artist who is in constant interaction with his audience and shared only the tracks from his latest album Landing On A Hundred.

During this intimate concert, where we had the chance to withness Cody ChesnuTT’s evolution as an artist, it’s the man behind the artist that took my breath away! He candidly shared with us the ups and downs of being married and being a father but also his growing spirituality. A spirituality Although he is a very spiritual human being, he shares is spirituality with the world without imposing his views!

Oui c’est moi sur cette affiche (1e photo en haut à gauche)! Voici l’horaire des cours de cross training offert à la salle d’entrainement RGym par l’entraîneuse personnelle Keena-Lou!

Je ferais bien plus qu’être sur le message publicitaire des cours de cross training du RGym en 2013! Et oui, j’ai décidé de participer au challenge “Transform Your Body” avec comme seul adversaire moi-même! 8 semaines pour tonifier le cors de Jane Doe! Je ferai les comptes rendu ici même!

In case you were wondering what happend to the RGym the contenders, here are the results!

… The winner is : PASCALE!!

Poids / Weight: 160.8- 152.6 pds

Graisse Corporelle / Body fat %: 34.8% - 31.2%

BMI: 26.8 - 25.4

Elle a aussi perdu 7 cm de hanches et fessier et diminuer la concentration de graisse autour de l’estomac.

She also lost a 7 cm from her hips and glutes areas and decrease the fat concentration around her stomach.

Overall:

The 8 weeks challenge turned out to be more difficult than expected for the contenders. Many obstacles greeted them along the way and their commitment to the fight grew smaller for some.

What to learn from this:

• “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well neither does bathing-that’s why we do it daily.” Zig Zagler. In other words for motivation to stay high one must constantly continue to feed it.

• The environment must be right. What I mean here is that your surrounding, your friends, your family and your home must be aligned with your goal to avoid temptation and to encourage the challenger not to give in.

• When taking on a challenge such as weight loss, one must be ready to make certain sacrifices, not only when it comes to food but also with one’s schedule. If your priorities are social gatherings, work and friends as oppose to your health, it simply means that you are not ready to take on a weight loss challenge yet.

• You most develop a strong desire for your goal, it must be important enough for you to want to apply yourself or fight when times are hard.

So to summarize, I strongly believe that the Rgym contenders could’ve done better as a whole as far as motivation and efforts are concern. Therefore weekly meetings and follow-up will be done in person next time to ensure that I can recharge their “motivation jar” as often as possible and to analyse more in dept their progress. I am glad that they all participated to this event and I hope that their new acquired knowledge about weight loss will inspire them or others to continue and persevere.

Week 6-8: I then decided to bring in some help and called my friend and co-worker Karl from Nutri-aide to assess the participant’s current status. He was able to measure their bodyfat percentages, assess their eating habits and take their weight. The results were similar across the board: All of my challengers, although informed already were still consuming a very poor amount of water and fruits and vegetables, especially vegetables. Karl made sure to give them each some individual advise and tips for weight loss success.

I also took a few minutes to give them a weekly planning tool to chart in their workout sessions to avoid skipping them and a food log sheet for them to journal and keep track of their food intake while applying Karl’s advice.

Pascale:

Challenges: “Sticking” to a steady workout and sleep schedule was not easy, her environment was still a big distraction in her journey.

Success: Pascale was able to maintain a healthier diet, where she would drink more water, have less or no sodas and more vegetables.

Melissa:

Challenges: With a new born and two other young child it was hard for Melissa to continue attending her local gym. Long days and breastfeeding took a lot of energy from her.

Success: Her eating habits contained more vegetables and water, bread and pasta consumption also was reduced.

Keith:

Challenge: He admitted that motivation was his biggest challenge. His surrounding was not conducive as well, but the motivation was a constant struggle. As the gym membership ended, the home workout also decreased.

Success: Keith is a food lover but especially a good cook, so healthy evening meals and lunches were easily created.

Yelvard:

Challenges: Yelvard’s main challenge was still regarding her schedule, she was unable to find time in her overwhelming week and weekends to train due to work, a new added school schedule and an extremely crowded social life.
